Ingredients:
Black eyed peas (alasande) soaked overnight - 2 cups
Ridge gourd - 1 no.
Tamarind - lemon sized
Jaggery powder - 1.5 tsp
Salt - 1 tbsp
TO ROAST and GRIND:
Oil - 2 tsp
Cinnamon - 1" piece
Asafoetida (hing) - 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
Coriander seeds - 1.5 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 3/4 tsp
Red chillies - 4 nos.
Curry leaves - few
Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
TO TEMER:
Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
White lentils - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - few
SERVES 3 to 4 people.
