Hiking Rawson Lake & Upper Kananaskis Lake Trail, Alberta

It was late in the day on Thursday, April 1st 2021. We were looking for a short, moderate hike that would give us relatively nice views and enjoy some fresh air. We found Rawson Lake and Upper Kananaskis Lake Trail seemed to fit our description. We packed up the truck and began our journey towards Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. This trail is an out and back route with approximately 550 meters of elevation gain. The hike is around 7.0 kilometers and is rated as moderate on All Trails. I would personally rate this hike as easy. The trail is well marked and heavily trafficked so there is not a lot of room for error when hiking up to the lake.
