Boss: Whip's Memory (Richter Belmont) - 00:46

So, Richter. Remember in Aria of Sorrow when Julius told he was going easy on you? I bet if he wasn't he'd fight more less like Richter does here. This guy barely gives you a damn second to breath and nearly everything he does downs Jonathan in two hits, a full hit from the Vampire Killer is instant loss (dealing massive 360 damage here).

Thankfully if you lose here you'll be only kicked back to Master's Keep, although you won't get any items you used back.

You can't use Charlotte in this fight, so no STR Boost for you. You should be ready for a very long fight.

Richter has high tolerance against Holy but is weak against Dark and a common tactic is use Mastered Cream Pie (found in a secret room of City of Haze) against him and even though it only deals measly 30 damage with my current status it's still better - and safer - than any other weapon I have.

Heaven's Sword is just barely short the range to be a good weapon here and that little lack of range makes using it extremely dangerous if Richter decided to use the whip (which happens to be all the fucking time). Voulge (bought from Vincent after beating Death) or Jet Black Whip (gotten after beating Medusa) from Burnt Paradise are also a good weapons against him.

The secret to win this fight is knowing how to manipulate Richter's AI and never get yourself in bad positioning. Richter has no collision damage (like Stella and Loretta), so don't be afraid of jump kicking him to get some distance.

If you attack while jumping Richter will most likely throw an Axe. If you use subweapons while standing on the ground Richter will counter with Knives which you can duck to avoid. If Richter advances towards you he will either try to whip you or throw a Cross (you can also crouch under, but be careful as Richter loves to whip you if you stay ducking for too long), but after a while he'll use Holy Water instead, so watch out for that, on some occasions Richter may opt to do a small hop backwards and use the air slicer. I'm still not sure what triggers the Grand Cross.

Richter's Vampire Killer is the main threat here. One mistake and he downs you instantly. Period. To make matters worst his whip attack is pretty damn fast and can cover Richter's back and head for during the startup. If you're not prepared to dodge it, you WILL get hit.

Remember: If you ever fight a vampire hunter, throw pies at his face.
