Just like any other muscles, the diaphragm also consists of muscle fibers and tendon. This actually means you can strengthen and stretch it! I strongly believe that the diaphragm is the most important muscle for you to take care of but I am also sure that the majority of us don't do anything about it. In this exercise, you can load the diaphragm effectively. When you inhale, the diaphragm goes down, which will push the abdomen out. Since you put weight on your belly, the weight acts as a resistance against the diaphragm descending, making it 'the only resistance training for the diaphragm'. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO STRENGTHEN THIS ESSENTIAL RESPIRATORY MUSCLE and you also use your core and pelvic floor muscles together. This will definitely improve the quality of your life.
