This video presents you a simple extractables screening of extractables in pharmaceutical packaging. Extractables and Leachables (E&L) are major concerns in pharmaceutical packaging and products. The screening of the volatile and semi-volatile extractables can be done using Direct Thermal Desorption – GCMS system, without complicated sample preparation. Shimadzu TD-30 Series is equipped with a short transfer to minimize dead volume, as well as a heated sample line which enables high sensitivity detection even for highly adsorbent compounds. The identification of the extractables was done using NIST Library and Shimadzu Polymer Additives Library.
