Non-targeted Screening for PFAS in Food Contact Materials by High Resolution LC-Q-TOF

Per and Polyfluorinated Alkyl Substances or PFAS are manufactured and used in industries, consumable products for several decades. In recent years, the uses of PFAS have been regulated, restricted or banned because they become the concern of public health due to wide-spread contamination. In this short video, we introduce how to screen and detect PFAS in food contact materials like paperboard and soft drink cup used in the fast restaurant. High resolution LC-Q-TOF mass spectrometry is used for non-targeted screening analysis of PFAS in data independent acquisition (DIA) method. Data analysis of such complex data is carried out using advanced software for precursor deconvolution, formula predictor, MS/MS library search, database search and fragment assign.
