Suvali | Suvari | Meethi Farsi Puri | Kharkhariya recipe | Sweet and Flaky Puri | Diwali Special Traditional Gujarati Snack

Suvari is sweet crispy deep-fried Indian crisps. It is a Diwali special traditional recipe made in Gujarati households.

Suvari is also known as Suvali, Suwadi, Kharkhariya, Kharkharia, Crispy Sweet Puri. It is pinkish-brown in color, mildly sweet, crispy, and crunchy in taste.

Made using all-purpose plain flour or maida, Clarified butter or ghee, milk, sugar, and cardamom powder. Knead a semi-soft dough, roll small puris and deep fry them on slow flame until pinkish brown color.

Note: Always fry on medium-low flame. If you fry on high flame, then they will start to burn from outside, and they will be uncooked from inside.

Variations:
I have seen some people add sesame seeds to it, which gives a unique taste, but it is optional. If you like Suvali without any flavors, then skip adding cardamom powder.

Suvari is a Diwali special recipe. You can serve it to guests coming at home during festive times. I share it with neighbors, friends, and family. Suvari is a forgotten recipe, but I love this recipe and always make it during holiday seasons.

I always prefer homemade snacks because I choose the high quality of ingredients, no preservatives, no food color, and good quality of the oil. These homemade snacks, therefore, are healthy and hygienic too. I usually make Suvari recipe during festivals like Diwali, and when it cools down completely, store it in an airtight container. It stays fresh for up to 2-3 weeks.

It contains maida, sugar and is deep-fried and therefore it is made only on special occasions and festivals.

Serving:
You can enjoy Suvali during the morning or evening as a snack with your favorite cup of tea or coffee.
Suvari is a kid-friendly recipe, and you can also give it in their school tiffin box.

Storage:
Store Suvari in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2-3 weeks

Please try making this lip-smacking Suvari recipe and let me know how it turned out. If you like this traditional Gujarati Suvali recipe, then do not forget to share it with your friends and family.
