Indiana is a State of the United States of America located in the Mid-Western and Great lakes region of the country. It is bordered by Ohio to the East, Illinois to the West, Michigan and Lake Michigan to the North and Kentucky to the South.
Indianapolis is the state capital and also the most populous city of Indiana. Greater Indianapolis is the most populous metropolitan area of the State.
Indiana is the 38th largest state by area and 17th most populous State of the US.
Politically Indiana is considered as a strong Red State. It has voted for Republicans for a very long time but in 2008 Presidential election it was flipped by the Democrats by a very small margin. Republican party holds the majority in the both chambers of Indiana Legislature and also the State's Governor seat. Majority of the Congressional deligation from Indiana is also Republican except for the two House members.
