Chicago CUBS at New York METS 5/11/96 Original WGN/WWOR Broadcasts

Recorded and Digitalized off two pre recorded VHS versions of this game both WGN and WWOR for the most complete broadcast. VHS tapes were later transferred through a DVD burner (2002) and has now been recently restored and new edit making its debut on the Phenia Films MLB archival youtube page.
Steve Stone, Wayne Larrivee in the booth for WGN and Tim McCarver and Ralph Kiner for WWOR and comedian Jerry Seinfeld joins Ralph and Tim in the fourth inning for a special appearance.
The game with everything one of the most memorable games from the 90s as Mets 1B Rico Brogna becomes the hitting star going 5 for 4 with 4 RBI's with 2 HRs including the walk off HR in the bottom of the ninth inning,
Righthander Kevin Foster gets the start for the Cubs and Pete Harnisch for the Mets.as tempers begin to flare up for both clubs after Kevin Foster threw a pitch over the head of Todd Hundley and Cubs releiver Terry Adams threw a pitch behind Pete Harnisch, who punched catcher Scott Servais both benches cleared including nine ejections by HP umpire Greg Bonin Harnisch, Servais, Scott Bullett, Leo Gomez, Turk Wendell, John Franco,(get ejected on John Franco day at Shea) Todd Hundley, Blas Minor and Mets coach Steve Swisher a ugly affair between the two rivals.
After the smoke has cleared, the Cubs score 2 runs in the 9th inning to tie the game on a 2 RBI single from Cubs 3B Jose Hernandez off Mets reliever Bob Macdonald who replaced Dave Mlicki
Walk Off Homer from Rico Brogna his 2nd HR of the game in the bottom of the 9th gives the Mets the dramatic 7-6 win.
Doug Henry gets the win for New York (2-1) while Chicago's veteran Doug Jones takes the loss 1-2 giving up the Homer to Brogna.
