Infrastructure Clinics and Navigating Indeterminacy - Sha Xin Wei

This Making Sense of Complexity talk, hosted by the new School of Complex Adaptive Systems in the College of Global Futures, features Professor Sha Xin Wei.

Scaling embodied and computational techniques for creating augmented experiences, we can prototype homes, streets, parts of buildings, parks and playgrounds to the degree needed to get a sense of what it would be like to actually live with those forms. We describe some ingredient techniques and make a case for an "infrastructure clinic” to critique, imagine, prototype at life-scale, and create humane infrastructures. What complementary techniques from CAS can flesh out such an infrastructure clinic as a contribution to Global Futures’ Solutions and Engagement axes?
