Bringing yet another heartfelt conversation with one of our many valued patients, this time featuring 12-year-old Aryan from Kolkata. His story delves into the nuanced challenges faced by children dealing with health conditions. It begins with the difficulty of living with the condition itself, followed by bullying, feelings of inferiority, hopelessness, suppression of dreams, and the shared pain felt by the family. However, with compassionate, quality care, these challenges fade away, giving rise to hope, possibilities, and the desire to fulfil dreams. What is the impact, we ask? Is it a child's belief that there is nothing they can't do? Or is it a mother's wish for her child to live a life full of potential and quality? Or, is it the knowledge that we (LVPEI) are one step closer to attaining our mission of eliminating avoidable blindness? We ponder and say it's all of these aspects combined!
