What is Adenocarcinoma?

Описание к видео What is Adenocarcinoma?

Adenocarcinoma is the most common type of colon cancer. It starts in the gland cells that line the inside of the colon and produce mucus to help with digestion. These gland cells can sometimes grow uncontrollably, forming a tumor. Colon adenocarcinoma often begins as a small, non-cancerous growth called a polyp. Over time, some polyps can turn into cancer. Symptoms might include changes in bowel habits, blood in the stool, abdominal pain, and unexplained weight loss.

Treatment options typically include surgery to remove the tumor, chemotherapy, and sometimes radiation therapy. Early detection through regular screenings like colonoscopies can significantly improve the chances of successful treatment.
