Marx fixer upper 333/1998

Found this auction on the bay that included a 333 & tender plus a 1998 that needed some love. The 1998 has a slight bend in the frame on the front and was missing the horn but the shell is completely intact and the motor has traction tires. I think I'll leave the frame alone as I believe it's cast and might crack. Doesn't hurt the little switcher's performance. Fixed the missing horn, headlight, & front coupler. Just need to work on the reverse unit but for now it runs good. The 333 was a bit more interesting, missing the front pilot truck so I added a set of American Flyer prewar truck for now. Reverse unit has a wooden wedge in it about as thick as a tooth pick, removed it, added a new plunger & wire and now it works great, very smooth runner and the shell is in decent shape. The tender has had Lionel trucks added to it so I put a lionel post war coupler on a NYC boxcar on one end to make a conversion to haul the Marx meteor cars.
