Dive Site: Bakalang Jetty

Bakalang Jetty is an older jetty servicing the small village of Bakalong on Pantar. Our dive took us on a journey from the new jetty to the old. You start on a steep sandy slope, ideal for muck and macro enthusiasts. Here we encountered clownfish, nudibranchs, flying gurnards and the elusive rhinopias (out of focus). Under the old jetty is a photographer's dream, fish, corals and sponges on a backdrop of a once-industrial jetty framed by dancing sunbeams.
