Do THIS to Make Your Drums Easier to Tune!

Tuning drums can be tricky enough, so let’s make it as easy as possible. These two cheap, simple tasks will greatly improve the ease of tuning on your drums, and they will help your drums stay in tune longer. My personal preferred way to tune drums is to finger tighten the rods as far as I can go, then begin using a drum key to finish. The easier and smoother the finger tuning, the more likely I can quickly get the drum in tune with itself before I even hit it. These tricks can make a MASSIVE difference on an old drum. If the tension rods are old, rusty, or just stiff, oiling up the threads will make the rods feel like new. Take care of your drum hardware and make sure that you’re not working harder than you need to to keep your kit in tune!
