In this video, we teambuild around Zacian for the Regulation G format for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet VGC. It's aa different time these days for Zacian, as the nerfs this generation make it so that the sword dog is no longer the S-tier behemoth it once was. However, thaat does not mean it is not viable! It still has a strong base-150 attack stats, excellent bulk with 115 defenses, and its speed allows it to outspeed base 135s like Flutter Mane, Miraidon, and Chien-Pao. Swords Dance is more preferred this time aaround over Substitute but the later still works. Options like Incineroar & Amoongus are always going to be strong, while Pelipper seems to be the best partner for it since the rain removes a fire weakness and wide guard support helps a ton! Raging Bolt & Urshifu round out this very familiar core. Gouging Fire & Chien-Pao are 2 other strong partners for Zacian as both can help it do more damage with Howl boosts or Sword of Ruin ability.
