Building a Dividend Portfolio for Monthly Income

Every month I receive money from companies in the form of dividends. I've built up a dividend portfolio for monthly income. Some months it’s a lot, some months not as much. But having that income means my rent is paid, my bills are paid, I can buy some things with what’s left over.

And while I do receive other small amounts of income from book royalties, adsense from this YouTube channel and the like, the majority of my monthly income comes from dividends.

So how did I get into this position, and how can you do the same?
