埼京線前面展望Part1　恵比寿→赤羽　＜Cabview Japanrail Saikyo Line part1 Ebisu → Akabane＞

The Saikyo Line is a JR line that connects Saitama Prefecture and Tokyo.

Osaki Station and Omiya Station are the terminals, but this line does not connect the two cities with its own tracks. It is simply a name given to the line, and the train runs via the tracks of the Yamanote Line and the Tohoku Main Line. It is difficult to explain the background to this in simple terms, but it is a new line that was started in response to the recent increase in demand for commuter transportation, and it can be said that it has the same origin as the Shonan-Shinjuku Line.

Let's leave the complicated story aside.

In this video, the train starts from Osaki Station and heads towards Ebisu Station, and runs to Akabane Station, which is the southern half of the Saikyo Line. Until Ikebukuro Station, the Yamanote Line, which circulates around the center of Tokyo, runs parallel to the train, and can be seen mostly on the left. It is a green EMU. Shin-Okubo Station, Takadanobaba Station, and Mejiro Station, which appear along the way, are Yamanote Line stations, and Saikyo Line trains pass through them. At big stations such as Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Ikebukuro, not only Yamanote Line trains but also Saikyo Line trains stop.

Along the way, the train with the camera on it passes a train with a golden bonnet. This is a Tobu Railway limited express that runs on JR lines, and although there are few trains, it runs from Shinjuku or Ikebukuro to the Nikko area.

The section from Ikebukuro Station to Akabane Station used to be called the Akabane Line, and the cab view has a slightly more laid-back atmosphere than south of Ikebukuro Station.

North of Akabane Station, the tracks continue to run on an elevated track, and the Shinkansen tracks run parallel to it all the way to Omiya. I plan to upload this scene in part 2. June 2024
