This song was written by Cynthia McQuillin in 1983, and originally sung by famous filk musician Julia Ecklar. This version was also sung by Ecklar, with guitar by Karl Franzen, Bass by John Land, and drums by Kurt Moore.

On July 16, 1969, the Saturn V carrying Apollo 11 launched from Launch Complex 39A with its eyes set on the moon. Today, November 16, 2022, that history is echoed as Artemis I launches as the first in a series of complex missions to return humanity to the moon. During this flight, the spacecraft will launch on the most powerful rocket in the world and travel farther than any spacecraft built for humans ever flown.
