ABANDONED Lakeforest Mall! Dead Mall Walkthrough!

Opening in 1978, Lakeforest Mall was one of the country's premier indoor shopping malls. With four department stores, JC Penny, Sears, Woodward & Lothrop, and Hect's. There was an indoor ice-skating rink and over a million square feet of leasable space.

The mall changed over the years; its ice-skating rink would become a movie theater before eventually becoming the food court. Hect's would be rebranded as Macy's, and Woodward & Lothrop would become Lord & Taylor.

The mall would spend a decade in slow decline before losing its anchor stores and in line tenants. Now the mall is set to be shuttered by March of 2023 with no real development plans on the horizon.
