The original traditional song was recorded by our friend Hristo Neykov in Bulgaria, in the villages of the Goce Delchev region, south Rhodopi. The grandmother that sang it is from Village Pletena. This is a Pomak song. Bulgarian Pomaks mainly inhabit the Rhodope Mountains.
