Madeira is one of our favourite places in the world. It is called the Hawaii of Europe and thats not an overstatement. From mountains to beaches to vibrant cities, this island in the middle of the Atlantic ocean has it all.
You can visit Madeira all year round as you’ll most likely always encounter mild weather and temperatures raging from 18 to 25 degrees.

We visited Madeira 3 times and in this vlog we want to show you our favourite places that make this island so unique.

1. Sao Vicente
Quinta do Barbusano Winery
The last part of the road towards the winery is very bad. Taxis do not go there anymore but will drop you off at the chapel and you will have to walk about 30 - 40 minutes from there. The road there is a bit steep but with great views.
If you rent a car, get a 4x4 so it is safe to drive it on the gravel road towards the winery.
Many guided tours on GetYourGuide also take you to Quinta do Barbusano.

Google maps will say the road (ER101) through the tunnel is closed. However, it is just reaches a dead end in 5 kilometres but you can reach the waterfall through it and exit on the right towards the restaurant. Beware that there are many people walking on the road and cars that stop for pictures.
