I really didn't think I would like this lens as much as I do, it's literally my go to lens for when I do photography! It's versatile and beautiful. Being able to go from 24mm all the way to 70 and even 105 (with APS-C) is very convenient. The filter thread size is 82mm which interchanges with other lenses within the Sony Trinity but also the 135mm F1.8. For most people this might be the only lens that they purchase and they would be quite fine with just this and nothing else.

The build quality is amazing, they've thought of everything. It has weather sealing with a rubberized gasket, good semi-macro ability, loads of options on the lens, smooth transitioning and even a nice lens hood with a notch for the circular polarizer. I found that the F2.8 wasn't quite enough for night shooting or dark rooms, so it's always good to carry a prime with you for those types of scenarios.

I would personally describe this product as a versatile day time lens which works amazingly well with gimbals and filters to give you crystal clear images with really good vibrance, sharpness, color and quality. The size and weight make this product a compact alternative that would mostly achieve similar results to several prime lenses (24, 35, 50, 75, 90, 105).

The only downside that I can think of is the price, it's an expensive lens. I sold my 24mm F1.4 to buy this while it was on a discount. In doing so I gave up a lot of light and a versatile prime for several different focal lengths.
