Rob has taken both of those designs and made improvements based on what he has encountered over the past 20 years. The Visser No. 7 is constructed of aluminum and features a new body design that is modular and fixes a few issues. Because the body is a single piece, there is no chance that the left side cover loosens under heavy load due to the fact that there is not a left side cover. The body is all one piece. The bail system is totally new with actuators that make for a very smooth trip and eliminates the chance of the bail tripping accidentally and cutting your line. The handle can be moved from left to right and the reel is completely sealed. You can dunk it, swim with it and turn the handle underwater without fear of water, sand or salt getting inside.
