JAPAN TRAVEL VLOG | Hakone New Year Misfortunes, Mt. Fuji & Food

We love travelling and sharing our adventures in Japan through our travel vlogs, but due to Kiwi’s recent pregnancy confirmation, we’ve limited our outings for the safety of mum and baby, but today we’re making a special journey and partaking in the Japanese tradition of “Hatsumode” (the first shrine visit of the new year) at the famous Hakone Shrine to pray for a smooth pregnancy!

We’ll be finding out our luck for 2024 with some “Omikuji” (Japanese fortune papers), catching a glimpse of the iconic snow-capped Mt. Fuji, and happening upon some.. misfortune with closed restaurants.. but all is not lost! It was a great first baby bump trip to get back to nature and we hope you’ll enjoy it too!
