EP 15 - Chandratal to Manali | Last episode of Spiti Valley Tour

This was the most adventurous journey of the Spiti tour, We started from Chandratal at 7 am and reached Manali at 9 pm, Day was very tiresome but full of excitement, i saw some of the most beautiful waterfalls on the way, rough roads full of adventure.

This is the last episode of our Spiti Journey, the entire journey was so amazing, a uniqueness of this tour was the dynamics get change wherever we have gone.

While on our way to Manali from Chandratal (140 km Hope you will enjoy this episode.
The terrain was off road. We come across many water streams, some of the water streams are very difficult to cross.

In Chandratal we stayed at UC camps (spiti expedition), we paid Rs 1500 per person, toilet attached, I saw other camps too, one of the name was Parasol Camps - Rs 5500 double occupancy. Chandratal is located at 14000 ft.

Then we proceeded to manali, we took a stop at Chacha Chachi Dhaba at Batal (15km from Chandratal). In this route there are not many eateries option. Earlier there was only Chacha Chachi dhaba in batal now some other dhabas are also there. We enjoyed the Aloo paratha & Omelete
There is also Govt. lodge mainly it is for Govt. employees, however if any tourist request to stay can stay there. Near the Dhaba we enjoyed the view of Chandra River from the Batal Bridge.

Another food option will be at Chhatru, which is around 17 km from Batal. (Batal to Chhatru - Water streams are manageable). However Chhatru to Gramphoo water streams are very dangerous, many expert drivers are even takes longer time to cross the stream Locals named it as “Pagal Nala” It is advisable to cross the pagal nala early morning, as the flow is lesser in morning, as day passes the flow of the stream gets stronger, hence becomes difficult to cross.

If you come to Batal from Manali via Atal Tunnel - 87 km & if you come via Rohtang - 125 km

The road from Batal to Gramphoo is completely off road, full of scenic views, which makes this journey adventurous & beautiful. Gramphoo you will see the diversion, for Rohtang & Atal Tunnel.

Atal tunnel is around 9 km long which reduces the time & travel distance.

Late evening we reached Manali.
