The role of early-career researchers in shaping sustainable science agenda towards 2030 and beyond

Описание к видео The role of early-career researchers in shaping sustainable science agenda towards 2030 and beyond

This is a record of the session "The Role of Young Researchers in Shaping a Sustainable Science Agenda for 2030 and Beyond," organized by RIHN at the Tsukuba Conference 2023.

International science-policy platforms have been providing evidence-based knowledge to policymakers globally for creating informed decisions. There is also an increasing attention to the engagement of early-careers (ECs) as important stakeholders in global assessment processes.
This session brings together a number of ECs and experts from different backgrounds to discuss the following questions:
1. How can ECs play a role in identifying/shaping science and sustainability agenda (agenda setting)? What are the examples of key successful roles ECs have taken and what tracks/pathways did they pursue to contribute beyond the role?
2. What are the major challenges/barriers to EC participation and engagement?
3. How can EC-led actions support broader outreach, impact and contribution towards the 2030 agenda and beyond?
