/// Bolshaya Pushkarskaya Street emerged in the first half of the 18th century. It was inhabited by workers of the cannon business, which is why the name of the street came about. In 1751, the name Pushkarskaya Street appeared. As a result of the disorderly development, it was a narrow, uncomfortable street. In 1849, there were two stone residential buildings on the street. 38 houses were wooden. Bolshaya Pushkarskaya Street in St. Petersburg began to develop intensively at the end of the 19th century. Now Bolshaya Pushkarskaya is one of the three main transport arteries. The traffic is one-way. The street is built up mainly with apartment buildings. Before the foundation of the city, there were about 40 small settlements on this territory! Throughout the early 19th century, smoking was prohibited on the streets! Most of the houses were built of wood.
