Range Rover P38 # 080 - SRS Fault - Gas Pedal - AC Belt - ABS Fault

Описание к видео Range Rover P38 # 080 - SRS Fault - Gas Pedal - AC Belt - ABS Fault

It's finally time to take on a few of the green P38's annoying issues that has surfaced lately.

1) The car reports an SRS fault and the SRS light stays on. Checking the codes reveal that one of the SRS warning light bulbs are defective. There is actually two bulbs behind the SRS icon on the instrument cluster, and the system is smart enough to detect that one of them are bad. So let's replace it! The bulb is a T5 glass socket 1.2W 12V bulb. Video 9 also covers the binnacle removal a bit. Check out    • Range Rover P38 # 009 - Center Consol...

2) In video 77,    • Range Rover P38 # 077 - Throttle Posi...   I introduced you to the gas pedal potentiometer that sends the gas pedal position electronically to the EDC (electronic diesel controller) management module in the engine bay, instead of using a physical gas wire. The car usually daily gives the driver a no response from the gas pedal once a day. The solution has been to stomp on the gas pedal a few times to "wake it up" again. A few rare times the engine must be turned off and on again to reset the car. So let's replace the potentiometer. The potentiometer is held by two 8mm bolts, and the bracket is held on with one 10mm nut and some lock tite. The lower plastic cover is held in place with four AWR2227 clips.

3) During a routine service I noticed the AC belt was shredded to pieces and just flapping around the engine bay. So let's replace it to restore AC now that spring is in full motion. The tension pulley is adjusted with a 13mm spanner once the belt has been put in place around the crank pulley and compressor pulley. The belt part number is STC3397.

4) Another error reported by the car under a few rare circumstances has been an ABS fault. Especially driving over very bumpy roads this could pop up. The error is that the air gap for the sensor and ring wheel is too large. So let's just adjust that sensor a tiny bit and see if it that fixes it.
