Описание к видео Ị Bụ Chi m

**NOTE ON TRANSLATION:
The igbo language is a highly colorful one that routinely uses a host of visual elements to express simple points. Many of these visual elements only make sense in context of broader themes in the language and shared stories across time. Because of this, some expressions lose their meaning once translated to English or any other language.

In light of this, I have translated the song to the best of my ability while leaving out a couple of lines that would fall completely apart in English.

Enjoy!

P.S. If your ibo translation skills are stronger than mine, please feel free to leave your own translations in the comments.

LYRICS:

I bu Chim oh
I bu Chim
I bu anyam ji ahu uzo
Agada gbachiri uzo nwoke obi oma
Olilanya nke ndi nso

Oku lere afifia mana afifia eler'oku
O gini kam ga eji kele gi ozuoro gi
A gam akpo isi ala nye gi ekele, I bu Chim.

TRANSLATION
You are my God,
You are my God
You're the eyes with which I see
The one who blocks the way no man can pass
The hope of the saints

The fire that burns the bush but doesn’t consume it
What can I thank you with that would be sufficient
I will bow down down to you
You are my God.
