Much of mainstream feminism focusses on women’s right to act, live and compete like men. The idea of the strong woman is a masculine woman, and the result is a collective devaluation of femininity. To achieve true equality of the sexes, feminine values and behaviours need to regain the same status as masculine values, or else women will forever be fighting a losing battle. As a former head of The Norwegian Opera Academy, a professional musician and an opera director, Ellen has experience in competitive work environments and finding her way as a female leader. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
