66th Infantry Division: World War II | Documentary

Описание к видео 66th Infantry Division: World War II | Documentary

The 66th Infantry Division or Black Panther Division was one of the units that trained at Camp Blanding during World War II. On Christmas Eve 1944 the 66th lost a significant portion of its fighting force when one of its transport ships the Leopoldville was torpedoed. This event determined the rest of the unit's future during World War II. Instead of being deployed to Belgium, the 66th was deployed to western France where they fought alongside French troops in a campaign against the Germans that lasted until the end of the war.
