CHEESE BREADSTICKS RECIPE

We love these in our house either as a snack, breakfast or served alongside a pasta or lasagna dish! These recipe works great with pretty much any cheese you have on hand! This recipe can easily be doubled. It is surprisingly quick and delicious, you will be surprised at how quickly you can whip up fresh from scratch breadsticks! If you don’t want to make your own dough, these do work beautifully with frozen bread dough or rolls as well!

There is no need to go to a bakery to get fresh cheese breadsticks. With this recipe, you can bake them fresh right at home. These breadsticks are cheesy and crusty on the outside while also being soft and fluffy in the middle. They are ideal for an after school snack, to eat while watching the game, or just to have available in the kitchen for any time someone in the family gets a little hungry. These are also awesome for an on the go snack, whether it is while driving on a road trip, a picnic or something else.

Take the breadsticks out of the oven and let them rest a few minutes before serving. These breadsticks are so delicious and definitely best served warm. We also enjoy dipping them in pizza sauce. So good!!

Ingredients:
250gm bread flour
8gm milk powder
25gm sugar (2tbsp)
3/4 tsp yeast
1 large egg yolk (20gm)
150gm milk (or water)
25gm salted butter cut into small cubes

Method

1. Add yeast, egg yolk, sugar and milk in a mixing bowl. Mix them well and let it rest for 10mins.
2. Next, add bread flour, and milk powder. Mix well until a dough is form. Let it rest for another 10mins.
3. Then, add in butter and knead for 10mins until the dough is smooth, elastic and no more sticking to the mixing bowl.
4. Divide the dough to 9 portion. Roll it into a ball shape, then roll it into a long shape about 20cm.
5. Proof for 1 hour. Preheat the oven 15mins before baking at 175C.
6. Brush the bun with milk.
7. Sprinkle the sugar on follow up the cheddar cheese.
8. Bake the bun for 15mins at 175C with fan mode, at middle rack.
9. When the bun still warm, brush it with butter.
