Dhigurah, Heaven in The Maldives on a budget

Our first international travel after the loss of Poppy was then Maldives. We opted to visit two different islands, first Dhigurah and then Maafushi.

We didn’t do lots of planning for that trip and we opted for Dhigurah, an inhabited island of Alif Dhaal Atoll where whale sharks are year-round residents.

For a long time, we were looking at luxurious hotel in the Maldives but in the end, we opted for more local experience on a budget. Dhigurah looked perfect for that.

Dhigurah means long island and it has one of the longest beaches of the Maldives. Its bikini beach is approximately 2 km length.

Plus, the island is further than other local islands where tourist can get, making it uncrowded and perfect to be alone in paradise.

Enough for now, let’s start from the beginning of the adventure, in Male Airport.
