The Pluralistic Approach to Counselling and Psychotherapy

Описание к видео The Pluralistic Approach to Counselling and Psychotherapy

This one hour lecture (powerpoint slides with audio commentary) gives a brief introduction to pluralistic theory and practice. It begins with a short history of the development of pluralism in therapy, then goes on to look at the evidence base for tailoring therapy to individual clients. The talk goes on to explore the shared decision-making which is at the heart of pluralistic practice, and the different areas and times in which we can share decisions with clients. Finally, the talk focuses on the use of measures, and specifically our Goals Form and Inventory of Preferences.

The lecture is intended as free CPD (continuing professional development).

By the end of the lecture, you should have a basic comprehension of the pluralistic approach and an understanding of what it means to apply this in practice.

Finally, sorry about the few jumpy slide transitions at the start -- just getting used to doing Powerpoint slide presentations!
