Описание к видео Meet Brandea Scott-Vessel, a physician assistant in oncology with The Everett Clinic.

My name is Brandea Scott-Vessel; I'm a Physician Assistant in Oncology with The Everett Clinic. My approach to patient care has always been to treat that person like it's my mother or a loved one. Every single person is very different and deserves the respect of being treated like a very individual person. Many people mistakenly think of palliative care as end of life care, but it's truly a way for us to reach out and try to ensure that patients are as comfortable as they can be and that all of the aspects of their lives are addressed, as much as we can help with that. I am constantly inspired and impressed by our patients. They never give up and just impressed by their kindness and their graciousness while going through such hard times. I like to listen more than I talk. I like to ask questions to see what really matters to them. Some people don't want another pill. They don't want another treatment. They just want to talk about it or to be heard, or to just have some ideas for them to choose and think about later. If you show every patient the respect that I would wanna be shown if I were on the other seat things go better and they can feel that and that you respect and care about them.
