Varadero Cuba Sharks

Описание к видео Varadero Cuba Sharks

This video was shot on December 8, 11 and 18, 2015. I’ve done more than 400 dives around Varadero Cuba, over a 28 year period and until 3 weeks ago, I had only seen 3 sharks there. This site is called Shark Reef or Shark Cave and it is near Cayo Piedra, which is northeast of Varadero. On all 4 dives that I did there on this trip, there was a large nurse shark which seems to be calling this spot home. On December 11th, there was also a lemon shark just a few meters away. Both of these species do this resting thing and studies are still underway, trying to determine why. There are a few theories about this. I like to think that some fairly new conservation efforts have caused the return of sharks to this area. The visibility wasn’t the best because of some rough weather before these dives. There are some other creatures after the shark shots. On December 18th, I tried a different filter, so the colour is different than the rest of the video.
