We start by taking a look at the front panel of the LAPG Atlas plate carrier. The front of the carrier uses a top section with two standard molle sections that has loop over four entire sections. This makes it easy to attach any sort of comms or cellphone holder while also offering a place to put patches or other gear. Below, the entire front is laser cut has a ton of places to place gear. The front of the carrier has a flap that attaches to the rear of the plate to keep it secure.

The rear of the carrier matches the same design by having the top portion in standard molle with hook lined fabric along the top 4 sections. The remainder of the rear panel is fully laser cut and provides a lot of room to connect any gear.

The side cummerbund has two different styles that it includes. It has a minimalistic style that connects with a single band and a clip or it can use the full cummerbund (both included). The full cummerbund connects behind the rear of the plate carrier and offers a lot of adjustment. The Atlas cummerbund also includes sides pockets for 6x6 side plates. The fact that both of these options are included with the LAPG Atlas plate carrier is really a great value.

Looking at the shoulder’s straps, they are easily adjustable and have a clip hidden within the front side of the plate carrier. This allows for both easy adjustment and also allows emergency doffing in the case of an emergency.

We then put the plate carrier through a series of test where we looked at the ease of sizing, the range of sizes, and plate carrier expansion options.

It was simple to adjust the LAPG Atlas plate carrier using the top shoulder straps and the cummerbund adjustments. The Atlas plate carrier was easily adjusted from a full-size male all the way down to a smaller female frame.

Next, we looked at expansion and if the Atlas plate carrier offered any features to allow for attaching rear carriers or front plate placards.

Finally, we finished by testing how the LAPG Atlas plate carrier fared when trying to get a good cheek weld and if it interfered in any way. Then we checked for comfort to make sure nothing poked or prodded you if you were in the prone position.

We have found the LAPG to be an absolutely amazing option with all the features that are included. It offers an amazing option at this price point and would work great for both civilian and duty use.
