The 1966 UK General Election

Описание к видео The 1966 UK General Election

In this video, I tell the story of the 1996 UK General Election, an election that produces a 98 seat majority in the House of Commons for Harold Wilson and the Labour Party.
The election would be the last held with a maximum age for the franchise of 21 years old and it would be the first time Labour had improved their position in parliament after going to an election as the party of government.
After winning a working majority, Wilson would govern for another 4 years before calling an early election in 1970, which would produce an unexpected victory for Edward Heath.
