The Nonliteral Lens: Letting Go of Labels through Abstract Photography with Beth Buelow

Join Michigan based photographer, Beth Buelow as she talks about abstract photography.

Have you ever gone out intending to take photos, but something wasn’t quite right? Maybe there was harsh light, too many people, an uninteresting sky, no wildlife around, or maybe you were just feeling tired or uninspired. But you’re out with your camera, so you might as well make the best of it!

Enter the wonderful world of abstract photography, where there’s no such thing as nothing to photograph. In this presentation, we’ll explore how to get started or expand your abstract photography practice, using both in-camera and post-processing techniques. We’ll also learn about using abstraction exercises to re-energize how we see and relate to the world around us.
