EDIT 2024-02-05: Wow, this video is starting to really blow up. I'm getting a lot of comments! Let me address something that comes up over and over again. Yes, I was a 41.2 HCP golfer at the time. I had just started learning to play golf about three months before this. And yes, it was also significantly better than somebody who was maintaining a 40+ HCP. However, because of the way the handicapping system works, it takes time for it to come down. I was a 25.9 only about eight weeks later, and a 20.9 about six months after this video. You can see newer golf videos on my channel with lower HCPs.

My first golf video! I'm playing at Pala Mesa golf course in Fallbrook, CA. I'm playing the silver tees, with a 9-hole yardage of 2851yds and a rating of 34.1/118. My handicap index is 20.6 for a 9-hole round, and my course handicap is 20.

A few things to note:

Wow, my swing sucks. Basically chopping wood.

On hole 8, I didn't realize until after I started editing that I hit my 4th shot (after I had already put my tee shot OB and the new provisional ball in play went far-right) from behind the OB white stakes. Oops. In a comp, that would be a DQ but for this purpose I just played the "Local Rule" for stroke+distance for a 2-stroke penalty - I just didn't drop it in play like I should have done.

My putting was good all round, until the 9th hole. Yikes. Talk about TILT.
