The “Golden” idea behind the IQ Tour Emerald was to create a smooth, controlled pearl that complimented the rest of the IQ series. Similar to the IQ Tour Gold, the Emerald proves to be in fact quite similar with the R2S Pearl Coverstock and Centripetal Control Core combo.

As I compared both IQ Tour Emerald and IQ Tour Gold in this ball review I will say these two are essentially the same ball, just a different color.

I can see myself using the iQ Tour Emerald when there is a little more friction built into the lane and a hook spot is more developed, than a fresh condition, to help maximize this balls potential. In a 6 ball arsenal I would recommend this ball as a “3” ball aka transition piece when the lanes aren’t blended nicely and you need to combat the wet dry. I will have this ball in my bag for ALL patterns over 36’ in length.
