I have received various requests to make a video about plug valves. In todays video I will be disassembling a pressure balanced lubricated plug valve. These types of plug valves will vary between manufacturer. This plug valve is a common style.

Plug valves come in various configurations. You can have a full port, venturi pattern, lubricated, non lubricated, sleeved plug valve and more. The main component of this plug valve is the plug and grease. Without grease in this type of pug valve the valve will not seal. Grease is injected from the top grease fitting and travels inside of the stem down to the plug cavity.

This style has various adjustment points that can be used. The adjustment knobs will move your plug up and down inside of the body. It also has pressure balance ports to help prevent the plug from getting jammed or stuck.
