Not Dead, But Dying | Valley View Mall (Roanoke, VA)

Hey everyone! In this video, we check out Valley View Mall in Roanoke, Virginia. While I wouldn’t yet consider this mall dead, it’s definitely dying out. Thanks for watching, and here’s a couple facts about the mall!

-Valley View Mall opened in 1985.
-The former Sears shown in the video opened with the mall in 1985, and closed in October 2019.
-The mall is currently anchored by Macy’s, JCPenney, and Belk.
-Not shown in the video are the multiple businesses surrounding Valley View Mall that aren’t directly connected to the mall.

AUGUST 2024 UPDATE: I recently learned from a comment by ‪@Adino1‬ that the Macy’s home store on the second floor (seen briefly at 1:05) closed earlier this year. Any current photos show the store dark and empty, while its label has been removed from the directory. I don’t like that…
