Potassium is a macronutrient required by all plants in the aquarium. K+ is required in high amounts and is primarily used to regulate the amount of water in plant cells. Potassium ions also helps to regulate signaling pathways within the organism.

The recommended concentration of potassium in our aquarium has been determined to be between 10-30 mg/L (ppm).

n our video we show you how to make a K+ fertilizer solution that enables us to customize the concentration in each dose. We made outr solution contain doses of 20 mg/L. This dose can be added 2-3 times a week or more if you can spot out a potassium deficiency.
Note that K+ often competes with Ca2+ ions in solution, thus hard water environments may require additional K+ to overcome deficiencies.
