Using a Contour Gauge as an Adjustable Needle Selector Machine Knitting Hack LK 150

Описание к видео Using a Contour Gauge as an Adjustable Needle Selector Machine Knitting Hack LK 150

Knitting machine hack time! I'm also premiering my brand-new-to-me Silver Reed LK 150! In this video I share a recent discovery I made on how to use a carpenter's contour gauge as an adjustable needle selector on the LK 150. While the gauge of the slats on the contour gauge does not exactly match the 6.5 mm gauge of the LK 150 knitting machine, it is close enough that this will work to create a custom needle selector tool for tuck, Fair Isle or slip patterns. The contour gauge is inexpensive enough ($10 - $15 depending where you buy it) that you could even splurge and get two!

The one I am using in the video is available at Lowe's. Since making the video I have ordered and tested this one from Amazon and it works as well if not better. It's almost exactly the same but the little slats seem slightly sturdier. It also has magnets on the back so you can stick it to a metal table leg or craft cart when not in use. Here is the link for the one from Amazon.
