This is my English version cover of 確かめに行こう (Let's see, if that's true or not) by the pillows in celebration of their 30th anniversary.

I could never man up and admit that I'm wrong

Surrounded by my friends only makes me the more lonely
Smothered with kindness only makes me the more empty
Through the quiet nights I wish I'd vanish in the morning
I'm begging could you tell me, do you know what I am?

As I stumble through the rabble,
barefoot and dazzled, like walking a thousand flights
But if I put my shoes and try to jump higher I'd never ever beat that height
And I wonder if the pavement
ever remembers the younger me of days gone by
And every time I try standing taller
but setting ever higher is the sun beating down

I would pull the thorns that are sticking your heart now
and remove the mask of the coward you hide under
cut all of the ropes that hold you back and be unbound
So I could be the one to give this message to you

You don't have to smile if you just don't want to
Times you want to cry, you can cry if you need to
When you want to whine, you can let it all out
and break down every border till the world is sincere
let's see it with our own eyes
