Ypres Rally 2024 - SS9: Kemmelberg 1 + SS1 Div 2 - all cars on the cobbles (raw footage) - mistakes

The first stage on Saturday of the 60th Ardeca Ypres Rally, a first pass on SS Kemmelberg, the 'assasin' of tye Ypres Rally, that got Jos Verstappen this time. He hit a tree and lost his front left wheel. The stage was paused for more than 30 minutes to get the car of the road, but was resumed and not cancelled!

However we visited this stage lots of times before, we never visited the cobblestones uphill although it is a very famous location. Since we did not visit the cobbles in the Rally van Wervik, and the Aarova Rally will not be held anymore... We had to visit this one for our cobblestone section for this year!

There were some mistakes (overshoots) before entering the cobbles, especially in Div 2, but nobody mistok the cobblestones, fortunately. But there was also the mistake of Gilles Pyck who turned in too early, hit the inside of the corner and spun (thumbnail).

There also was the pass of Pieter-Jan Maeyaert who is just majestic in his E30 M3!! See @6:58
