Ingredients
Oil - 2 tablespoon + for boiling vermicelli
Moongfali/ Peanuts - 1/4 cup
Rai/ Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
Hari mirch/ Green chilli - as per taste
Chana dal - 1 tablespoon
Urad dal - 1 tablespoon
Curry patta/ Curry leaves - a handful
Pyaaz/ Onion - 1 sliced
Shimlamirch/ Capsicum (red, yellow, green) - 1 cup diced
Namak/ Salt - as per taste
Haldi powder/ Turmeric powder - a pinch
Vermicelli/ Seviyan - 2 cup
Dhaniya patta/ Coriander leaves - for garnishing
Nimbu ras/ Lemon juice - as per taste
Instructions
FOR BOILING THE VERMICELLI-
1.In a pan, add water, oil, and vermicelli to it and let it boil for 5 to 7 minutes on medium to full flame.
FOR PREPARING SEWAIYAN UPMA-
2.Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan and add peanuts to it. Roast it for 3 to 4 minutes.
3.Meanwhile, heat oil in another pan and add mustard seeds, green chilli, chana dal, and urad dal and sauté them for few seconds. Add curry leaves and sauté again.
4.Add onion to the pan and sauté it for a minute.
5.Add capsicum to the pan and sauté it well.
6.Add salt and turmeric powder to the pan and mix them well with the other ingredients.
7.Add vermicelli to the pan and mix it well. Cover the pan and let it cook for 2 to 3 minutes on low flame.
8.Add the peanuts to the pan and mix it well with all the ingredients.
9.Garnish it with coriander leaves. Turn off the flame and add lemon juice
10.Sewaiyan Upma is ready to be served.
