Last Window: The Secret of Cape West (Nintendo DS) Playthrough [1 of 2]

Описание к видео Last Window: The Secret of Cape West (Nintendo DS) Playthrough [1 of 2]

A playthrough of Nintendo's 2010 mystery adventure game for the Nintendo DS, Last Window: The Secret of Cape West.

This is the first part of a two-part playthrough, covering the first seven chapters. Part two can be found at    • Last Window: The Secret of Cape West ...

Last Window: The Secret of Cape West is the direct sequel to the acclaimed 2007 DS game, Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (   • Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (Nintendo DS) Pl...  ), and it was the last game to be developed by Cing. The company filed for bankruptcy shortly after the game's release.

Unfortunately, the game was never released in North America. An English version was released in Europe, however, and since the DS isn't region-locked, import copies play on North American machines without issue.

Last Window will immediately feel familiar to anyone who played the Hotel Dusk. The game is still played with the DS held like a book, the interface and controls are identical, and it retains the first game's blend of 3D environments and animated sketch-style character graphics.

The story is set during the 1980 holiday season, picking up one year after the events of Hotel Dusk. Kyle Hyde, a down on his luck ex-detective turned private investigator, suddenly finds himself neck deep in a 25-year-old murder mystery after poking his nose into the affairs of his neighbors, the residents of the Cape West apartment building in Los Angeles. But as familiar as everything initially feels, Last Window is an even better game than the first. The story develops more organically and is better written, the characters and setting are arguably even more compelling, and the hardware-specific game play elements feel less contrived and gimmicky than before.

I'll avoid going into the specifics, as that would inevitably steer things into spoiler territory, but I think it's safe to say that anyone who loved Hotel Dusk: Room 215 owes it to themselves to check out this fantastic sequel.
